OCTOBER 29 – NOVEMBER 13: Wow what a sprint we’ve had! The engineering department wants to keep everyone updated on our progress as we develop the Drivnbye app, every two weeks at the end of our sprint we’re going to update you on features, bugs, and updates on the department. So lets jump into the progress we’ve made in a short 2 week span!
Documentation:
- Solidified features set to be rolled out in our first release (MVP)
- Solidified documentation on local environment setup for developers and onboarding procedures for new development staff
- Determined hosting providers for:
- Alpha app release hosting
- Backend
- Database
- Media storage

Backend
- Authentication work flow for signin, signup, signout, forgot password, and email verification
- Role base permissions for users, photographers, minors, and admins
- V1 of our “for you page” API endpoint to show a mix of future events, following’s posts, ended events photo album, local posts
- Geolocation support for querying objects such as events or posts within X miles/kilometers of a given latitude or longitude
- File hosting provider chosen and implemented
- Optimization to bring response time down to <7ms
App
- boilerplate created with required packages to be used for UI components
- Splash screen while assets and queries load
- Form validation
- Workflow for authentication
Dev Support:
- Scripts to create test data for validating features. Confirmed Support for simulating over 75,000 concurrent users.
- Scripts to spin up cloud infrastructure for testing
- Scripts to maintain database schema to be ACID compliant
- Pipelines to report potential issues prior to deployment

- This is the first sprint so no bugs reported yet
