DrivnBye: Overcoming Adversity, Coming Back Strong

What happened to DrivnBye?

There was a misunderstanding that DrivnBye had left for good, but that’s not the case at all. Unfortunately, we lost our Instagram account due to a hacking incident, which was a big blow since it was our main social media platform. We had 40,000 followers and were growing rapidly, with 10,000 new followers every month and averaging 75,000 views per episode. After some reflection and learning from the experience, we’re back and determined to make an even stronger comeback. We’re excited for what lies ahead and grateful for the support we’ve received.

What changes are we making?

Our main takeaway from this experience is the importance of spreading our content across multiple social media platforms. Previously, we were solely focused on Instagram and TikTok. Moving forward, we’re excited to expand our presence to include Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Each platform attracts different audiences, and having a presence on multiple platforms provides us with a safety net in case we encounter any issues with one account. We encourage everyone to follow us on all platforms to enjoy a variety of creative content tailored to each platform’s strengths.

Did the development stop?

While we were offline for three weeks, we doubled down on improving our app instead of taking a break. This meant accelerating our development and design efforts. During our time away, we completed two productive sprints filled with progress. To get up to speed on what we’ve been working on, check out the updates from sprint 12 and sprint 13!

Did the release date change?

Our release date remains unchanged. While we haven’t formally announced a specific date, we’ve consistently aimed for a late spring to early summer launch. We’re right on schedule and eagerly anticipating the start of beta testing. During this phase, we’ll rely on our community as testers. Once we’re confident in our product, we’ll move into alpha testing before the full production release across all platforms.

What are we doing with the old content?

We discussed whether to share our older content, knowing that our older videos may include outdated information. However, we believe it’s crucial to showcase DrivnBye’s journey—from its beginnings to where we are now—to illustrate our growth and evolution. So, for the next 21 days, we invite you to enjoy two DrivnBye videos daily, witnessing how we’ve transitioned from solving one problem to tackling many.
