In January 2025, we hit a huge milestone with the launch of DrivnBye, a social media platform made for automotive enthusiasts. This journey started back in October 2022, but real development didn’t begin until January 2023 after we planned out the core features. Seeing our vision come to life and connect with so many people has been amazing. We’re beyond excited about this achievement and want to share the journey that got us here—the wins, the struggles, and everything in between. We also want to take a moment to highlight some key challenges and lessons we learned along the way.
Bugs and Community – Powered QA
Building a community before launching on the app store was a game-changer for spotting and fixing bugs fast. When we first launched on TestFlight and Google Play Console, we invited our Discord members to help test the app, making it clear that the environment was in “alpha” and could be wiped at any time. By the time we were ready for the public release, we had around 700 testers actively reporting bugs, sharing feedback, and connecting with each other.
In total, we squashed over 150 bugs and even added 20+ highly requested features that brought real value to our MVP—yeah, scope creep, but these features helped make the app a hit! This hands-on testing phase made sure we caught critical issues early, creating a smoother experience for everyone on launch day.
Taking Over the Automotive Scene Worldwide!
DrivnBye has officially gone global! Our community is spreading fast, with users across 44 countries and every U.S. state. Automotive culture is universal, and we’re proud to see enthusiasts from around the world sharing their experiences on the app.
10,000 Users and Counting!
Hitting 10K users in our first week is a testament to the excitement surrounding DrivnBye. Every day, more automotive enthusiasts are joining to share their rides, discover unique vehicles, and connect with like-minded people.
Content is Flowing – 26,000+ Uploads!
The app is thriving with over 26,000 uploads, including personal vehicle showcases, rare finds spotted on the road, and creative automotive photography. DrivnBye is quickly becoming the go-to place for enthusiasts to share and appreciate automotive culture.
Community Feedback – 4.8 Stars and Growing!
DrivnBye has achieved remarkable stability, with crashes or hangs occurring in just 0.05% of sessions. This reliability, coupled with receiving over 100 reviews with an average rating of 4.8 stars within the first 72 hours; this speaks volumes about the effort we poured into building a robust app and how thorough our testers were prior to releasing the app.
Making an Impact – #34 on the App Store!
In just 24 hours, DrivnBye climbed the charts to become #34 trending in the Apple App Store. This is a huge accomplishment for a brand-new app, and it only fuels our drive to keep improving and innovating.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
None of this would have been possible without our amazing team. Each person brings something unique, allowing DrivnBye to run smoothly as one unit. Our team covers marketing, business and sales, engineering, and community relations. We may be a small team, but we work efficiently and communicate effectively to keep things running strong in these early stages. Without the support of our team and community, DrivnBye wouldn’t be hitting record numbers in its first week.
