Release Notes

Banning

The ugly truth is no app is going to be perfect; users with bad intentions are going to join the app and we want to be prepared. That is why during this sprint we put a heavy emphasis on handling banned users. We plan to rely on our amazing community to flag inappropriate content that way our moderators and admins can take swift action. We also recognize no one is perfect, there is a 7 day window to unban yourself by following the URL send to your email.

Blocking

Similar to banning users, we want to make sure our users feel safe on DrivnBye which is why we want to enable our users to customize their app experience just for them.

Notifications

We wrapped up implementation of the notifications view within the app. This screen can be accessible via the home page and pressing on the “bell”

Badges

Badges are back! We spent quite a lot of time working on infrastructure to gamify the app by awarding badges when you hit certain milestones while using the app. Each badge has a difficulty along with a polished asset! You can now pin badges to your profile so where your username appears so does your badge.

Optimization

Although difficult to show a screenshot we spent some time offloading some computationally heavy operations to server-less functions written in a much quicker language and optimized library. We also spent some time in the database making queries quicker and predictable in “searching” applications.

Tests

Now that we’re approaching time to open up the beta to Patreon subscribers we began rolling out A LOT of tests. Ranging from unit tests to integration tests we want to make sure when we issue updates or improvements we’re not going to ruin the user experience.

Whats Next?

Next sprint is going to be exciting for the DrivnBye Team! We are aiming to begin rolling out early access via iOS testflight to patreon subscribers and collecting feedback to them along with focusing on polishing up the app adding features that may have fallen through the cracks, bugs reported by staff and UI updates to be more friendly to both android and iOS

Thanks for sticking with us!
